Swedish Biedermeier, commonly known as the Karl Johan Style, is a distinctive furniture design movement that emerged in Sweden during the early 19th century. It flourished during the reign of King Carl XIV Johan (1818 - 1844) and represents Sweden’s unique interpretation of the broader Biedermeier style, which originated in Austria and Germany.
These specifically date from around the 1890-1910 period.
The seats are padded and the pair could be used together as occasional seating,
window seats, or bedroom accents. Great vintage condition.
