60S FRENCH JACQUARD
TAPESTRY
A mid-century French Jacquard tapestry dating from the 1960s, woven in wool and cotton and inspired by the traditional Aubusson style. The tapestry shows a richly detailed woodland landscape, with trees, foliage, plants and a floral and scrolling border.
It has a colour palette of sage green, blues and a pops of pink. A great size to have above a piece of furniture. A striking piece with a lovely sense of age and texture.
On the back, there is a note that says “The finishing of this tapestry was carried out by H. Laurent". Brass rings have been added on the back for hanging.
Great vintage condiiton.
